Botulinum toxin type A (BOTOX®)
Botulinum (also called BOTOX®) is a biotechnologically derived protein that blocks the neuromuscular transmission of impulses. It is injected in very small amounts to treat and improve lines and wrinkles on the face in certain muscles.
Botulinum toxin type A leads to a relaxation of the respective muscles and the smoothing of the skin image. The correct dosage and precise positioning of Botulinum toxin type A are essential.
Botulinum toxin type A has been used for almost 30 years and used in relatively high doses for the treatment of diseased muscle spasm (spasms). The treatment of wrinkles with Botulinum toxin type A has been carried out since 1989. With Botulinum toxin type A, wrinkles can be visibly smoothed without surgical intervention.
